Purpose:
To allow gay and lesbian
real estate professionals around the United States to focus their
gay and lesbian means/ways within the nation's real estate
industry and profession; to promote education and sensitivity
concerning gay and lesbians to non-gay real estate professionals;
to educate the public and the general real estate industry of the
unique concerns and details of the gay and lesbian community as
they relate to real estate transactions, careers and lifestyles.
Goals:
Contribute to social causes relating to real estate industry,
including gay and lesbian needs. Meeting one time per year with
speakers, vendors, and educational seminars.
Several agents have
expressed interest in founding a national gay and lesbian real
estate association. If you wish to be contacted in the near
future, concerning membership, founding assistance,
guidance/expertise, or with information in general, please let us
know at. We need your input... Your submission helps this group
determine the degree of public interest. is proud to be the

Mission Statement:
Pride Real Estate Professionals, a non-profit organization,
exists to provide expert real estate information, education,
political lobbying, and services for the benefit of gay and
lesbian real estate professionals. The secondary purpose is to
provide gay and lesbian real estate professionals with the
necessary tools to promote diversity in their workplace by
incorporating office practices that focus on gay and lesbian
needs and issues.
Vision Statement:
Our vision is to be an internationally recognized and trusted
gay and lesbian organization for the real estate industry. We
will advocate for gay and lesbian real estate professional’s
rights and take collective action on important political and
social issues. We will enhance the gay and lesbian position in
the hetero real estate profession and bring the two to a more
inclusive standpoint. We will also offer numerous opportunities
for gay and lesbian professionals to serve in leadership
positions. We will focus on the gay and lesbian community and its
youth by promoting and funding educational opportunities through
scholarship programs.
Charity and Community
Efforts:
One initial charity
focus of the association will be on the gay and lesbian community
and its youth by promoting and funding educational opportunities
through a GLBT youth scholarship program ran by Project: Freedom
of Atlanta, GA. Initially, $2.00 of every membership will be
collectively donated to the youth scholarship program. Fall, 2000
marks Project: Freedom’s first scholarship allotments to
potential United States college students.
History:
Pride Real Estate Professionals was the brainchild realized
in September, 1999 by Real Estate Agents Erik Richard of
Portland, Maine and Kevin Pittman of New York, New York. Since
its inception, progress has been made to begin membership
enrollment and public announcements of the group's formation.
"Member
Volunteers" Needed:
As we are small in
numbers and resources, we seek interested individuals and agents
to further our "grass roots" efforts at organization,
incorporation, membership, marketing, financing, and web design.

Position
Descriptions
· Non-Profit "Org. Setup"
Coordinator – researching and determining appropriate
tax classification for association and spearheading setting
up organizational structure.
· Events Coordinator – handles
location, physical planning, advertising/promotion, working
with activities.
· Activities Coordinator - handles
activities at events, meetings, etc., and works with events.
· Steering Committee – 1 Chair plus
members, like a Board of Directors, until first officially
elected board members take office; creating and implementing
initial Bylaws and Rules of operation.
· Membership Coordinator – to
organize and maintain membership data, create a directory of
membership, organize membership drive activities and handle
renewals.
· Sponsorship Coordinator – to
organize business sponsorship for all aspects of association,
i.e. web page, newsletter, annual meeting.
· Charity / Community Coordinator –
to communicate with various charity org.’s and community
groups while organizing our association’s efforts to
support and benefit from mutual association.

· Marketing and Press Coordinator –
coordinating all web design/maintenance, press release,
publicity, and marketing efforts for the association.

monitoring/updating association’s financial position and
handling all financial transactions.
